Default Melted my pants on my NEW pipes

So I installed new Black Supertrapp Supermegs on my Fat Bob a few weeks ago, only ridden with them a few times as the weather is just warming. Parked the bike today and must have touched my pants to my pipes, they are nylon overpants, and melted.... What is the best way to get the melted black nylon off of Black pipes? Also will I make it worse if I ride to work in the AM???? I dont want to make it harder to get off.

Bro did the same thing not so long ago. One of the guys on the forum gave me great advice. Get a can of easy off. Now my pipes are chrome, so I'm not sure if that will make a difference, but I used a can of easy off, let it sit for two hours and then wiped it right off. I cannot remember who told me, but I wanted to give him a big tongue kiss… okay maybe not that bad… I'm not gay… not that being gay is wrong or anything… I'm not gay dam@ it!

I don't think easy off will work on black pipes.

I'm no help in getting it off black pipes. But I will help you to remember: Nylon and motorcycles are not a good combo!

Yup, I found lots of posts, but most were Chrome not black. EasyOff seems to be recommended, but I don't want to peal the black off of my pipes.....

Try some acetone or fingernail polish remover. Since you have black pipes, you should dab a bit on the bottom side and make sure it doesn't turn your pipes white. Acetone will melt the nylon making it easy to remove. At least on chrome.

If you're wearing genuine Elvis Presley Pants the black material will eventually turn into a greasy hair goop like substance that will slide off all by itself.

Why wouldn't easy off work on black pipes? What color is the inside of your oven?

WD40 works great on just about anything you want to get off of metal.
BUT, it may smoke like a ***** since you're putting it on your pipes.
Just a suggestion.
