Well; I am too old and life is too short to care about what others think. I ride my Harley because it is my passion. If others hate it, then that is their issue, not mine, and it can consume their thoughts. I have much better thing to think about.

I've heard rumors about this, but I really didn't get the full spectrum until I owned one. I can't believe that there are some people who absolutely hate Harley's. I just can't understand that. When I go for a ride, I acknowledge everyone on two wheels regardless if its a crotch rocket or a metric cruiser. I ride with several guys that ride crotch rockets.
I just can't believe how many people loathe Harley's. It's actually comical to me....why waste your time?
The oldest Harley dealer in Ohio is right down the street from me, so this is a motorcycle town pretty much and for the most part, you don't get that crowd vs. crowd I ride this and that kind of crap. I dunno, I just can't grasp it.
I don't care what it is just ride it! I just can't see the big deal. Can't we all just get along! lol
Some people will always like conflict I suppose.
I'm done venting. It's hardly riding weather lately....so maybe I'm just cranky lol

Where are these 'Harley Haters' of which you speak? For pete's sake, it's the dominant motorcycle in the world....not some oppressed little brand.
I've been riding for many years, and I'll be damned if I've ever come across a Harley Hater...unless you mean people who simply don't like motorcycles, think they're unsafe, noisy, and just shouldn't be allowed to exist....but those people can't tell a Harley from a Honda (and why would you care what they think?)

it's not just motorcycles. check out a sailing forum and see what the hate between the catamaran guys vs. the mono hull guys. or the bicycle forum the diamond frame guys vs. the recumbent guys. there are ---holes everywhere. lucky their are a lot more great people to compensate.

I suspect that if you were a gerbil enthusiast your coworker would probably disrespect (and be hatin' on) your gerbils!
