I got tired of being out-gunned. Thus, I'm having trouble concealing my fully automatic AK-47. Any thoughts?

So, your life is not valuable, but if you carry large amounts of cash; THAT is now more valuable than your ownself. Go figure.

In most places if your firearm is showing and officer friendly notices it or someone complains you will probably take the ride. Depending on the state you may not get home for a few years. In TX if you have a Concealed Handgun License and your firearm is showing you'll loose your CHL license and be charged with a minor rap. It's real easy - Carry concealed, be cool & no one notices, be macho, flash your firearm and go to jail sooner or later.

The best fix I've found for concealed carry almost anywhere is a vertical shoulder holster where I carry a full sized 1911 .45. The weight is not bothersome on the shoulder as it is with any belt carry, and is always handy under a jacket or shirt either standing or sitting.
This does fly in the face of "practice with what you carry" - cause as an instructor I carry in the shoulder rig, as a competitor I carry inside the waistband (IWB) on my strong side which is good when standing, moving or running but is hard to reach easly and discretely when seated - thus the shoulder holster most of the time. Under leathers you'll not notice the weight and folks will not notice the piece.
As for a carry piece, the Combat Commander sized 1911 is very hard to beat. The 4" bbl is a good balance between velocity (short barrels give lower velocity) and sight radius (so you can hit something) - As Col Cooper said "A loud noise never killed anyone". It's the stock length that is more difficult to conceal. Barrel length around 4" really doesn’t matter as it's in your pants or hanging where there is plenty of room under your arm pit. Colt and S&W have the best names for practical "Defensive" 1911's at this time. Double action pistols are more difficult for most folks to shoot well -again, you gatta hit your target. - Good luck; it's a very controversial topic.

I have a CWP & pack my Roscoe (S&W .38 Airweight, with laser grip) in a simple belt holster. Make sure it is covered, & do not allow it to "print" through.

I either wear a Galco Miami Classic shoulder holster or pocket carry in my jacket or vest - for the pocket carry a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster is a good choice (better than the leather ones, because it stays in your pocket.) I usually carry a J-frame revolver, espcially a S&W 637 (air weight). Soemtiems I carry a Walther PPK/S, flatter but heavy, or a Kel Tec P3AT.

I've considered a Coronado concealement vest, but while it's a nice vest, I'm not sure about the holster part. I might experiement with sewing a holster into the side of a vest.

Good point - hard to believe the lack of logic on this topic.
