Riding Armed
Wouldn't leave home without my .380 tucked in my Talon pocket holster.

Sometimes it will be a smart *** asking if it makes me feel like a big man. For such people I'll generally tell them it's like having two co&ks....one that can kill people.
Carrying while walking can be different than while in a vehicle or on a motorcycle.
What may be comfortable and concealed while walking may not be appropriate for a bike, due to the exposed sitting position. For example, an IWB holster, depending on the position on your body and clothing, may be visible to an outside observer (visible butt, or 'imprinting'), but while standing may not.
If you simply have it in a jacket pocket, how much does your jacket billow or blow about while riding? If it's in an inside pocket, although it's not visible, it may be quite annoying as the jacket moves in the wind. To that end, some kind of shoulder holster with the weapon fairly tight to your body may be the most secure. This would depend on the jacket. A tight-fitting, but comfortable, vest specifically designed with a weapon compartment might be the way to go (I believe someone had a link earlier on).
Remember that most of us have a box load of holsters - or at least more holsters than guns, sometimes. Finding the right one is a very personal issue.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I have had my CCW for many years now. I carried prior to riding as most of my business took me into some bad areas. Now that I ride I still carry and a smaller .380 or 38 Airlight is my choice. I don't need lot's of firepower. My biggest issue has been because I carry some additional weight, it's tough to carry comfortable. I found the .380 to be useful while in my pocket or vest pocket.
I also carry in my neighborhood while walking my dog and doing yard work. You never know who might come along uninvited.
First, to each their own. No problem. I ride with a couple folks that I know carry and I'm sure there are some that I don't know that carry. I don't while riding on mc. Too cumbersome. But I am wondering......of the tens of thousands of riders that have gone to rallies, how many have 'needed' a weapon? I carry when riding atv's in Idaho and Washington and when hiking to bait a bear bait but these are obvious reasons. Your experience (without giving too much information of course). I do like a good story.
I do register my guns but don't try to take them from me.
Dave, thank you for your service and to your family for their sacrifice.
Stay safe.
ride safe
Need some advise. I am deployed, but am planning a run to Sturgis when I get home. I have a CHL license, and need some advise on a good way to carry concealed while I ride. The states I'll be rolling through honor my Texas CHL license, so I'm legal and all...just need a safe, comfortable way to carry on the scooter. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
Dave
