i have an HID light on the bike. let me tell you i love it. everybody i ride with at night love it to. so it is worth it.
my 2 questions is:
1: when i start the bike up it the hid light doesnt always come on, i have to flip the bright switch off and on off and on off and on.
2: it gives me interference on the radio enough that i cant even listen to the radio. it goes in and out of stereo mode. annoying. so therefore i listen to the ipod ALL the time
Your HID lights have a ballast of some sort that powers the light on. Because of that it does not instantly operate at full power it until it warms up. Check your connections. As for the interference in your radio it could just be a ground issue. Check your ground, maybe try moving it to a different location.

+ 1 on the bad ground. i went through this with my install. double check all your wires.
maybe the HID needs a titch to warm up??...and why would the light interfere with the radio?

it does take a while for it to warm up, but even after warm up it still doesnt want to come on till after i switch the brights back and forth. some times it comes right on.
as for the radio i have checked and changed grounds on the ballast, not the radio yet.

Hey BDM... maybe warm up quicker if you raised your shirt first
As said check all your wires, but I think also it may have something to do with the light is wired to be on all the time and you may have an issue at start up. Check with Howard at motorcycle metal, hes a sponsor that sells hids and seems very knowledgeable. He may be able to help you.

The reason why this happens is because pretty much the kit needs more power + help. A relay will solve your problem easily.
