Looking at the Bell Drifter Helmet (Flat Black), anybody sporting one or know anything about them, other then their Bell.
Looking for comfort/fit/etc..
I have one. Wore it for about 2 miles on the highway and had to turn around and come home. It was very uncomfortable and was trying to lift off my head.
I have and wear the green one. All-in-all not a bad helmet. Has a different look than just the regular half helmet but fits the same. I think it is just as thick as any DOT approved helmet so don't think it will fit snug like the commodity beanie helmets out there. It is a DOT approved lid so the padding has to be there. Other than that I don't really know what else to tell ya. As solid as any helmet I've worn before and I like the looks of it as well. If you're looking for something specific, let me know and I'll try to answer your question.
I've been wearing a Bell drifter for a couple years now, and it's a decent lid. I have to tighten it down pretty good on the highway, but it's no worse than any other half helmet I've tried.
The ear covers are great. They're probably the main reason I haven't found another half helmet I like better. I leave them on year round and find they do a great job at cutting wind noise.
I have used one for a season and a half. It is a very good helmet in fit and finish imho. Comfortable and light weight imo. But it does have a tendency to get caught in the wind if it is NOT positioned correctly on your head and strapped down sufficiently. I have found that if I dont have the strap tight enought it tends to lift in the wind. Simple enough to fix. Keep it on tight, not too tight, but tight enough. Comes with ear pieces for the cold days as well. It is my first half helmet so I have nothing to compare it to other than full-face helmets.
