There's a time to ride and a time to polish. Polish on cold rainy days and ride anytime the weather permits. I polished my wheels last week at 1am. Couldn't sleep and they needed it bad. You wouldn't catch me doing that on a sunny day though.

Does it really matter? It means something different to all of us.An escape no matter what is being done.My bikes are cleaned twice a season top to bottom, the rest of the time out on the asphalt ribbon.

Sorry I missed the start of this thread, I was at church.
I attend Our Lady of the Immaculate Chrome on a very regular basis.
I love to ride, but I want my bike to look good. Besides with a cold beer and some loud classic rock I enjoy cleaning the bike.

If I didn't care what my bike looked like I would have bought a Road King!
(If that don't start a war nothing will!)

My friends bike is spotless and he rides the crap out of it; my bike has pollen all over it and road grime on the rims. But, I did change the oil, tranny, and primary.

My bike is chromed out, and believe it or not, it doesn't take all day to polish it. A good waxing 2-3 times a year and just a quick wipe down before & after a ride is all you need. When the weather sucks it's a perfect time to do the detailing. And the whole "chrome won't get you home" saying, not only will mine get me home, it will get me home faster than most! And with a passenger! Remember, the shiney lure catches the fish! lol.
