Its worth its weight in gold .. not only it would save your bike in minor parking lot falls but it also gives a hugh protection to your lower extremities ... lot of bones in just under the ankle.. I am sure you could picture that one happening ... I dont care about the looks and my moustache bar looks kick *** on fatboy IMO...
DR. V-TWIN ...... I had a look at your old images of your bike and honestly where you were then and now you bike was of the time ...... and as it is now where everybody wants this clean but wherever you look you have detail style you captured what must be big in America at the moment ...... Unfortunately here in England there are some not all people who think stage one and a set of pipes should give you your own show on the Discovery channel ......
SILVRBILL .....Thank you for your answer ...... What i find amazing is the number of accidents i read about on the web regarding bikes in America .... This is just a outsider's view but i have driven quite a lot in the state's and i mean compared to England your road's are vast and to the most part straight plus you have tighter speed limit's than us although we are followed everywhere in town and country by camera's we still have accident's but our roads are probably no bigger than some of your drive's ..... And here's a fact ....WHEREVER you are in England the furthest you are away from the sea is 72 mile's ........
I do not like the looks all that well, but mine was on the bike when I bought it, and though it has never been down, it is good insurance. And it does grow on you after a while. I am getting to where I like it. Yeah! I'm there. LOL
Check out the HD Moustache Guards - they are a bit smaller than the normal engine guards. A friend has them on his Fat Boy and they look pretty good. I have them on my Heritage
Don't care for the way they look, but they come in handy. Saved me from damage on more than one occasion. If it only has two wheels, it tends to tip over.
I'm not a fan of the look on any bike.
But I found a Kuryakyn Ergo guard that doesn't overpower the lines and installed it a couple of weeks ago. Picked it up off ebay from Chitown Harley. MSRP was 395 and I paid 175 plus shipping.
It's funny cause all I was looking for was a set of highway pegs when I came across this setup. It has pegs which unfold for highway use and I have to admit, the idea of having some type of engine protection was starting to appeal to me...guess I just finally became open to the idea after 30+ years.
I have had quite a few postive comments so far. It's a different looking setup and I am finding the pegs very comfortable on longer rides.
