Default HOG Roadside Assistance

Has anyone used HOG Roadside Assistance? What has been your experience? To date I have not had to use them. Would it be better to have something else?

I have used it twice. One was when I picked up a slug of water when I gassed up. The other was when I had a wreck and used my own wrecker service. They paid without question. My experience was great and money well spent.

Will not leave home without it. I have used it once. Bike was picked up 20 minutes after reporting the problem, and towed 90 minutes away to the dealer.
Nothing out of pocket, just a signature.

It's the only reason I maintain a HOG membership. Have never used it, but I've read/heard many positive comments like the posts above.

Used them once. Had no problems. Waited about 45 minutes for a tow. They called me while waiting to tell me a truck was coming and who it was. Later they called to see if I was okay and if the truck had made it.

HOWEVER, you have to be a member of HOG ($40?) and then pay $20 (the plan I had) for the Roadside Service. My insurance company (GEICO) covers motorcyle roadside service for $15 a year and I don't have to be a member of HOG (which I didn't want to be, but wanted Roadside Service).

I used it once for a dead battery in DC about 45 minutes wait. Very good service one call then they will call you back with the service on there way.

I've used it twice. Quick response both times, even during the Sturgis rally. Won't ride without the card in my pocket.

I had HOG and had roadside for a year never had to use it. So this year I did not renew my HOG membership (waste of money) but Road America sent me a renewal form for the roadside program (the 20.00 plan I had last year) so I sent the 20.00 in and skipped HOG but still have the coverage.
