Stereo System

Hey guys im looking for some help. Ive got a 1991 Electra Glide with the original AM/FM Cassette Stereo in it and im wanting to know if i can replace it with a AM/FM CD stereo? Im looking at a coupl of stereos off of ebay that came off newer model ultras and was woundering if they could be hooked up to my bike? Has any one ever done this or even know if it can be done? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

dont know if the mounts and wireing plugs are the same probably not but i put a reg sony head in my 94 with inffinity speakers no problem the handle switches dont work but lots better sound hope this helps

I don't think the later model stereo systems are compatable with that of your 1991 Electra Glide.

If the am/fm in your '91 isn't working, you might contact Iron Cross and see if they can repair it. I don't know if they repair them that old or not.

I put a Sony Explode car sterio on my '96 EGC. I have to cover it up when washing the bike but so far rain hasnt gotten to it. And Ive been in some pretty heavy rain and storms too. Im thinking of going to a marine sterio because they are water resistant.

Thanks for your information guys. Im looking into some marine stereo systems by Kenwood, Sonny, Jenson. Do any of you guys know if there is a certain amp or watt that i should put in it or does it matter? I want it to sound good, be loud but i dont want to blow any speakers or mess up any of the other electical parts on the bike.
