Here in the Vacouver area, where it's apperentley all our fault, the db limit is 92. ( but a local bike cop said if you have loud pipes, just stay off of such and such streets downtown and you'll be okay). He said it's only the 'look at me rever's' that are the problem, and they can't be bothered by exhaust noise other wise.
I have said it before, some common sense, if you run loud pipes, as I do. There should be a curfew, say between 9:00 pm & 9:00 am.
Running your loud *** scoot at night is like mowing your grass at midnight. And of coarse few bikes are as loud as mine, loud pipes save lives. They also wake up everyone in the hood your thumping through at night.
yeh, if I was to mow at night I'd have some pissed off neighbors as well. Loud mowers save moles!
It does sound like it's not gonna be feasible though because I bet everything fails (especially since a leo's stock bike failed). I wonder what they would do if that happens
There's a facebook group as well, and the more people that join that the better. The more numbers we get in there, the better. So, if you have a facebook account, please join "Peolpe Against Edmontons Motorcycle Noise Bylaw".
Thanks for the info on the Facebook group, I'm all joined up.

What I'd like to know is what the Moto cops Harleys measured in at and how much was spent to fix em.

now there is some common sense at last........I'd still like to know why people feel the need to be dickweeds and rev the **** out of their bikes at nearly every damned intersection.....and it seems to be the metrics that do that almost as many times as the harleys.
There is a guy in town that rides a Yamaha cruiser with V&H pipes....he revvs the **** out of that bike every damned time he turns around...parking lots....intersections....riding down the road......I guess he's to stupid to realise that people are actually laughing at him when he does this.....
South Park does seem to come to mind where it concerns him.

but everytime you read the comments posted at the end of these noise articles, it's always 'harley riders this, harley riders that'..... i would wager a bet that most of these 'noise *****' that post their comments wouldn't know a harley from a boss hoss. they just figure its loud, must be a harley......
I work nights and sleep during the daytime, what is the nanny state gonna do for me to make sure my beauty sleep doesn't get interupted?(sarcasm fyi) Seriously it would cost less taxpayer money to just pay for the medical operation to remove the sticks from the asses of all the people who are whining about our loud bikes!

My bike has the V&H Monster Ovals and ran at 91.5db @ 2500 rpm. I didn't think they'd have passed.
