Default Registration renewal $$$$$

So my wife just handed me the registration renewal for my 03 E-glide Standard. So I open it up and find out it's $164 WTF!!! The state of California at it's normal practice of ripping people off. I hate to see what they are charging for a new bike.
This is what doesn't make sense to me. They charge $58 for registration fee and $98 for license fee + $8 local fees. What the hell is the license fee for?

damn I was irritated when I got mine for my 88 sporty and it was 60 bucks. 15 more than my 1970 truck. But yours is crazy.

In Arizona, registration fees are based on the value of the vehicle.

First year for my Dyna was $468.

It goes down each year with depreciation, which is why there are a lot of old, worn out vehicles on the road here.

$45 for my SG in WA. I have heard CA fees went way up. $164 is a lot lower than some friends of mine are paying for thier bikes in CA. I have heard $200 and $300 plus

I'm glad I don't live out in Looney Land. I thought mine was too much at $47 for my 06 Softail.
