What is the trick to extend my wires? Bought the kits from Drag Specialties.....they are single wires that need to be inserted into the connectors....and I do not know how to open up the connector.........if there is another thread on this, link it please or pm me
You should be able to find several sources of info with a search but here's one thread to get you started. Hope it's close to what you were looking for:
jimmers is right thats a good thread. The connectors you need to open are molex connectors and once you get the hang of it its pretty simple. You can actually buy speciality tool but I just use a small pick works just as well and dont need to spen the 30 bucks on a special tool. Also you may need to crimp the ends onto the wires depending on the kit you got. For that you will need a open barrel crimp tool. Good luck
I bought the set of wire extensions when I put a set of mini apes on my wifes dyna, and wasn't impressed. I went through the wires, and found the colors I needed to match. Went to the shop & talked to a freindly service tech who gave me enough wire of each color to due the job. I just cut the wires and soldered the connections, staggering the splice joints so I didn't end up with a big ball of wires. Installed shrink tubing, good to go!

I may do just the same.thanks for the info on staggering the wires
http://www.wild1inc.com/techtipswiring.html has pics on wiring tips. I'm gonna go with plan A, use the kit and go from there. They always say to remove the existing thick plastic covering and use heat shrink to make it easier to pull the wires thru the bars
