Vance and Himes Fuel pak questions
Talked to my dealer service guy today about trying to quiet down the pinging of my2010 SE Ultra. Of coursewe know most of this iscaused by lean conditionsbrought on by gov regs. He mentioned putting on a V and H fuel pak. Did as search here and a few other places and guys are posting some pretty good revienw, but no one actually mentions this eliminating all or some of the pinging. Anyone here ableto confirm the this fuel pak will help with this pinging? BTW, exhaust mod is just Rush 1.75 slip ons. Thanks

Can't speak to ping but can say that the fuel pak seems to work real well. I put one on a 110ci SE and later took it off and went to HD SERT with Dyno tune by a reputable tech. I only gained a couple of horses and nothing on torque. I think that speaks volumes about the FP. You might want to change gas stations or add a little octane boost.

I put one on before they even made one for the Xbones. I called V&H and talked to one of there reps and he gave me the Mdl # of the one I needed. It works great with the V&H pipes and Big Sucker A/C. I wasn't looking for a whole bunch of power I was just looking for better performance, which I got.

When I swapped out my pipes last month for the V&Hs BSS, I had them installed by a local famous bike builder 30 years in the business. I asked him about the pinging I'd had and, here we go, he said it's because of the "synthetic" oil I use. I am going to flush it out at my next service so I don't know yet if he's right. I do know I don't hear it anymore ( or anything else) for that matter with these BSS, 109DB.
