Will be in Vancouver, B.C. Canada on vacation the first week of August. Got a Heritage Softail on reserve from Trev Deeley for a day. Thinking bout heading north toward Whister. Anybody have any other suggestions about a good destination. I can't wait.........
By that I mean continue on to Lillooet and then to Lytton and back to Vancouver on the #1 hwy. An amazing ride and it will take the better part of a day. It's about 450 kms. Our Duffy Lake road is our own little 'tail of the dragon' with scenery second to none.
its all beautiful out there. i rode out there a few years ago on my dyna. the moutains get really pretty just east of hope. whistler up north is pretty too around horseshoe bay. its fun to take the ferry and ride vancouver islands but it takes all day. be careful not to just spend your entire trip stuck in a vapor lounge in gastown.lol don't forgit to go up the needle and have some muscles and a beer. great place to look at the city. check out the epcott center lookin thing. its a cool place to waste an hour or two.
It's nice, true, but you'll end up wasting valuable time on the ferries. Stick with your Whistler plan. It's a truly beautiful hour and 50 minute ride one way with lots of places to eat up there and lots of places to take pictures from.
I have been through Vancouver only on the way to go fishing. If you decide to go to Victoria, plan for all day, maybe even spend the night there. If you can afford it, take the float plane from the south terminal at the airport. There are many interesting and beautiful things to see in Victoria. Victoria is the capital of British Columbia. They have a nice Harley dealership in Victoria. Never been to Whistler, but it looks incredible. They have some nice zip lines there to ride. Also, Watch Guy is correct, the ferry takes hours one way, no alcohol if thats your thing. Love the Canadians, but they can't fix a breakfast for ****.

the Ferry does not take HOURS one way.....the Departure Bay/Horseshoe Bay crossing is a titch over an hour..end up in Nanaimo...ride to Victoria over the Malahat...and catch the Swartz Bay/ Tsawwassen ferry back to the mainland.....a really cool day trip..and no there is no alcohol on them but if you happen to have a 6-pack in your saddlebags and your discrete...you can stay on the car deck by your bike and enjoy one while looking out over the water....if your not an ******* the ferry crew is pretty cool with you
