Getting 1st (older) Harley
NO OFFENSE(cuz I'm 58!!!), but for your purposes (unless you are a tinkerer), you may want to stay away from Ironheads(Sportys up to 84). And Sportys are a bit short on "room". (I'm 6'6")
There are some DANDY shovelheads out there right now, in the $4500-7000 category, that'll out last BOTH of us. Some will tell you they are a "headache". BS, I have been running the wheels off a pan and shovel for YEARS. Sure, it's called HEAVY maintenance, but they run alongside Twinkies NO PROB. Plus, I can roll 'em into MY shop, and work on 'em. (SAME thing with an EVO)
Here ya go, ALL 3 in a "row"
Blockhead, Shovelhead, and Panhead

If you're done with the boat - trade for the Springer; I'm restoring a 1993 Springer right now myself (Photos soon) - has been left alone for almost three years and almost all the "restoration" is cosmetic. Flushed all the fluids and she runs real strong - California bike and it couldn't breath here on Pikes Peak, so I'm waiting on some new jets.
Da Gumpmeister - Beautiful Haram!!!
