Why do oval race tracks always go counter clockwise?
Mostly because here in the US the drivers seat (NASCAR) is on the left, in other countrys the do go clockwise. Formula 1 is clockwise, you see them go that way at indy.

I try hard to practice figure 8's on my dead end street. I don't feel more comfortable left or right, but i am better at left.

Just remember: three lefts make a right (or vice versa).[8D]

With me, it's got nothing to do with sight, I just feel more balanced and in control in a sharp curve to the left. I do not like sharp curves to the right. When I come onto one I ease off the throttle without even thinking about it. I think it may be that, subconciously, I know that an error in judgment on a sharp turn to the right will put me across the line and into oncoming traffic. Oh well. I guess now's as good a time as any to go out and practice some more.

Peace.

Left turns are easier.

right handed, center-right minded, left turns. think about it, at least in city riding a right turn will almost always be a much tighter turn. oh, and BTW, i believe the NASCAR boys turn left because, being on the left side of the car you're a bit safer if you slide into the wall.
