ride them both that will make your mind up depends on what kinda riding you do, dynas are for riding and softails for show, but i will tell you something for sure there both way over priced
From the comments, it seems the Fatboy is overpriced. From what I know, you can get a new Streetbob. Although you can't get a new Fatboy for that price, I would much rather have a new Streetbob than a 10 yr old Fatboy....but that is just me. I like both Dynas and Softails.
For that price buy new, or negotiate the price down to something reasonable. As others have said, you have a bike....so no real rush.
You came to a motorcycle forum seeking wisdom. Ok, so far you've mostly gotten opinions. The one who told you to keep looking until you find THE one that you don't have to ask about hit the nail on the head.
The diff in prices you see between the dealer and Craig's list is that at the dealer you're going to pay retail, on CL or from any individual you shouldn't pay above wholesale. Find the bike that you like, that fits your riding style, check out the prices in NADA and KBB, and negotiate as best you can.
After that don't tell anyone what you paid, unless you like hearing that you got screwed, because there is no shortage of asshats who will.
