Hey gang, I'm pretty damn short. About 5'4". I want to get some apes on my '95 Springer. Would 16's be out of the question? 14's? Any other "vertically challenged" people out there running apes?
I know a guy that's 5'7". 20" apes, 4 inch riser, with a suicide shift. Anything is possible. lol
My bike has 12.5" apes 2" riser, pushed forward to 90* with the ground and they're good for me, and i'm 5'9". I do want to move up to 16's one day though, but I just won't push them up all the way.
My friend has a 75 shovel with 20" apes, pulled back even with the degree of the forks, and they feel WAY shorter than mine. It's all how far forward you have them. You want 16's. Do it up. Apes make a bike looker sicker 90% of the time!
I'm 6'0". Had 16" and 6" risers on my springer. Loved the look! It was great around town, but they got aggervating after riding out on the highway all day. I had them at the same degree as the forks. BUT, It ain't a bike unless it's got apes, IMO.
