I currently own a 2007 softail standard. I want to trade it in for a bagger. I think I have my mind made up for a Road king. So, in central FL I stopped by a dealer to look at the new RK's. To my suprise I fell in love with a 2006 RK custom. Good price, low miles...My concern and advice is:
What is the difference if I go to the 88 engine from the 96?
I am not as worried with the 5 speed tranny, I don't take road trips, 6th gear has been used twice on my bike in the last 3 years.
Any advice of any kind is appreciated!
If it's a good price you could always do a 95" build on it if you wanted more power. Not a whole bunch of difference between the two other than the 88 will probably run a little cooler. If you don't use sixth gear then go for it if it moved you.
