Headlight trouble....

I wanted to go for a ride this evening but when I fired up my bike the headlight was out. I checked the fuse (it was good) I pulled out the bulb and I jumped it with some wire and a battery (the bulb is good) Is there something else I can check before I bring it to the shop?

get a 12 volt test light and test the plug that goes to the bulb

Ok, I tested the plug...no fire. I tested the fuse and I do have fire at the fuse. Looks like I will have to pull off the tank and start ohming wire

before you do that move the fuse around and see if the light comes on or remove the fuse block all togather and see if you have continuity through the back of the fuse block. If so then move on to removing the tank. I just went through this and I had a lot of corrosion inside the fuse box but could not see it from the outside. Good luck.
