Re read my post. It DOES take away power, but such a small insignificant amount that no rider could notice it just by riding.

You'd better hope they don't find out you lied.

Well, I have both (Fatboy & RoadKing) 2 totally different feels. The rubbermount feels more Harleyish, but the Fatty has a smoother ride at steady speeds, especially since it's carbed. Almost electric motor in nature. Rubber glides have a "jerkiness" at steady speeds as the motor flexing in the frame translates to a jerky feel when at steady cruise. Not as noticeable on the RoadKing as the Dyna, prolly 'cause of the weight. Sold 2 Dynas 'cause I didn't like the jerkiness or the flexing motor.

C'mon... A rigid frame is the ultimate! The rear tire is the rear suspension...Twenty-psi or less in the rear tire and you are ready for the potholes!!!

Wow,that opened up a can of worms. I was only away for 24 hours and we are on page 7. I just want to say that i am more than happy with my Softy and the only reason i asked the original question is 1: I didn't know the answer and 2: I think the balanced crank took a little bit away from the character of the bike. I remember jumping on a new test bike with standard muffs and thinking oh **** this feels like a Jap cruiser (not much character) which is why i made the original comment. I bought the Softy because it is the only cruiser that i ever wanted to own, but i do remember riding a mates EVO when i was younger and it just felt like i thought a Harley should feel so i was a little disappointed when i rode a new one. But, i have never regretted buying my bike and will have it until the day i drop. As far as the poser comments go, WHATEVER. Oh yeah, thanks for all the constructive answers.

Makes sense to me.
