Driving west on m-32 towards ******* (Mich). Four of us going on a lunch ride / color tour. Speed limit is 55, I was in the lead going about 58 (gps speed) with my wife right behind me. All of a sudden I hear a truck roaring up on my left side ..look in the mirror and he is right there, less than a foot away from me with an east bound car less than a couple hundred yards ahead. All three of us passed each other at the same time It was over before I could react. He must have been going close to 80 mph. I looked back and every one was still upright. My first thought was to chase him down and deal with him. However, I was carrying and figured no good would have come of that. When we got to ******* and got off the bike I heard one of the others tell my wife that she thought we were dead. I guess he only missed her by inches. If I would have known that the chase would have been on and it scares me to think what I might have done. I just thank God he was looking out for us. My wife riding was my idea and if she was to get hurt ................I don't know what I would do. BUT she loves it.
If by chance the SOB that was driving that truck reads this.. Consider your self lucky. I know we were
Yep, when you're carrying you have to be extra careful not to let your anger, even when justified, take control. As much as some dick might deserve a good *** whoopin', things could escalate quickly, and some idiot just isn't worth the consequences to you if you if things get out of hand.
One of the best ways I have heard it put is real simple: Gun on, pride off.
Sometimes it's not easy, but you just have to let the morons go their own way and hope they get what they deserve somewhere down the road. Most of the time they will.
I'm glad everyone got out of it without any incident. You're definitely better off letting go of that anger when riding a motorcycle. There was an incident a week ago, today, here where I live where a biker was almost tagged by a 1/2 ton truck. The biker road raged on the 17 year old driving the truck. He thought he'd make eye contact with him, when he should have been watching where he was going. As they went around a curve the biker went off the road and slammed into a pole killing himself and his girlfriend on the back.
Glad you are all OK. I have had the same feelings myself and have always been glad that I didn't carry them out. You can't win if you take things into your own hands, especially if your are packing.
Every dog has his day. One thing about getting older is I have patience. If it was me I would have tried followed the person if possible [notice if possible]and at least been able to identify the driver and vehicle. Followed --not chased down. I would want to know what I was dealing with before I did something irrational. Doesn't mean that I would have confronted them but I would have had more information to make decisions with. I am glad no one died.
Back to the karma or whatever thing. Had a guy try to run me into a concrete barrier a few
years ago, (was in my truck). He was unsuccessful. This idiot was raging bad. First & only
time I ever pulled a weapon. Had my daughter & grandson w/ me. I got a good look at him
before he took off. Couple of years later he was on the news. He had slammed on his
brakes & caused an accident in which 2 people died. He now sits in prison.
Glad none of you all were injured by this nut of yours.
