If you don't go with a bigger one, yoou'll have 2 compressors next year, the small one you bought now and the one you should have bought to begin with. (I have 2). Do craigslist got a nice one for 100.00.

I bought the 12 gallon sears one a couple of weeks ago, I don't do alot of stuff that would require a compressor, I did my g/f's sons brakes and it was suitable for pulling the lug nuts and the bolts out of the caliper, it did turn on a fair amount, but it got the job done.

That 90 dollar one will not operate air tools. Airing up tires and blowing dust off stuff is what it's good for. I don't have any air tools, but know from using one of those little ones what it's good for.

For drying my bike after washing I use a small electric leaf blower I found at a yard sale for 3 bucks.

Just used my little 3 gal oilless 100psi compressor to fill tire on the sportster (did a great job), and then set pressure in the tires on my truck to 66 psi. Did a great job, I don't mind the compressor running, or having to wait a second for it to come back up to pressure.

It'll work for me!

Don't buy an emglo unless its above 50 degrees. Mine won't start unless its 60 degrees out. A 20 gal , 3 HP compressor is perfect. Enough cfm for blowing air for drying. I have Speedair that I got from Grainger for $400 12 yrs ago. I just replaced the check valve for $11 and the pressure switch for $30. I use it for my framing guns, HVLP spray guns in shop, air ratchets and air impact gun. I fill my big front end loader tires too ( although only 20lbs) The impact gun takes allot of CFM, the little compressor will not handle it, trust me, I have been building houses for 25 yrs.

Paid $30 for a new electric Toro leaf blower (2 speed 160 being the max) and it works great. Don't dry the ride with compressor air!!!

Be sure you get a belt driven compressor they are much quieter than the diaphram type, the noise they make will drive you out of your shop.

Funny, mine worked at 20F in Park City Utah. I've been framing since 1973
