I got a 77 ironhead on an after market rigid frame and I got my brother inlaw going to paint it for me. The frame is red and not looking good but I am not goin to yank it all apart just to repaint the frame so I am just going to have the tins and tank painted. I have fat bob tanks on it any ideas on paint? I was thinking of a base coat of red and then a top coat of black and somehow wiping some of the black off so it looks like the red coming through. Also any ideas of a good place to find any decals or chould I just have straight paint? Any ideas on paint would be grat. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...3003.646043613
You could do what your going to do,but instead of wiping some of the
red paint off, whilst its still wet cover it with cellophane paper then
quickly pull it off,and it should give you a sort of marbel look,i read about
this in Easy Rider mag some years ago.
What do you think about painting the primary cover red also? So the frame will be red and the top of the jugs will be res(because its a red headed bitch) and then paint the tins base red and then top coat of black then try ur idea of celophane. with the primary red? I want the tank and tins to look like the red is bleeding through and have an old look almost like I sanded through the black and there is red showing through.
