Wear one when in a helmet law state, don't when I'm not. My choice.

Doesn't really matter to me because I always wear a helmet.

That being said, I think that it should be up to the individual as to whether or not he/she wants to wear one - kinda like seat belts. Oh wait... never mind.

Might as well face it now, it's eventually gonna happen.

Riding a motorcycle on a public road is not a right, it is a privilege. In order to make use of that privilege we agree to the terms of the law. Same as driving or flying.

Very true. But we (as a collective) make those laws. And the people running the show will always gravitate towards legislation they think will (A) make them look like they care, and (B) is a non-controversial way of raising revenue.

Bullsh+t!!

A PUBLIC road is owned by the PUBLIC and the owners have the RIGHT to use it. You are correct that "we agree to the terms..." but it is by that "agreement" that we voluntarily surrender some of our RIGHTS. We have the "right" to everything that we do not surrender.

It is people like you with the attitude that the government is sovereign over the individual citizens that concerns me about the future of this country. The aftermath of 9/11 has shown how many here are submissively willing to surrender freedom for protection. They forget they have rights, not just privileges.

Oh, sorry. I forgot this is about helmets.
