Default Burning legs !!

I use a leather riding suit most of the time, however in winter I tend to use textile gear mainly for the waterproof qualites. Since I bought my Electra Glide I have managed to burn holes in three pairs of textile trousers (right leg only). This results in burned material on the exhaust pipe. This is not my problem as it is easliy removed. The main issue is having to replace my gear every few months. Does anyone else have this problem. Secondly, does anyone have a solution? I have spoken to some friends with different bikes and none of them has had this happen to them. I had a Road King before the EG and this didnt happen. Is it just me?

Does it have the Cat? If so the extra heat build could add to the the problem. Maybe some floorboard extenders would be the cheapest way to go,as far as getting your legs away from the exhaust.

You could always wrap your pipes. Probably not the look you would want, but a pretty cheap fix.

I'd start with Harleygoodie floorboard extenders. Inexpensive mod to put your feet out about an inch or so.

Sounds like he might to wrap his pants ???? Baggy plastic pants will melt when they come into contact with a hot pipe.

I have a 2010 Road King with the cat still in the exhaust. The exhaust pipe is hot but my pants don't really get that close to the exhaust pipe. I guess I'd try the floorboard extenders if it was burning my pants.

It's just you. I have a stock 2010 Ultra that I rode to Key West in 100 to 105 degree heat wave in July. There is a total of 10,000 miles on the bike this season. I was caught in a traffic accident for over an hour crawling 10 feet stopping and going another 10 feet.

Had armored jacket and pants. Never got anything over heated. I'm 70 and not too tough.

Maybe when you put the kick stand down you are sliding your right foot and leg into the heat shield on the area of the cat.
