Excuse my ignorance, but how do I measure the thickness of the cut? Wouldn't this simply be the thickness of the blade used to cut the pipe in half?

sure, if you have a sawzall, it's easy.... but when i did it, i didn't have the luxury of a sawzall..... try beating that sumbitch out and then come back on here and say how easy it is
I have a few buddies that work at muffler shops, they get good money for catalytic converters because of the metals in them, so don't just throw that stuff out.
