Dang it boy, you can get a cheap $30. sawsall. Or offer some tradesman $3.00 for a blade and he'd probaly saw it out for free.

You can get a good welder to weld it cheap.(or in my case, a freind welded it for free) Sure it's easier, but it's a lot cheaper to take it out.

As far a passing a emission test,, could'nt you just tune it lean for the test , or like, by pass your tuner and run it stock for a test???? I dont think your gonna burn up a motor running it lean just for a short period.

Lean tune will not pass the test sorry , a Cat. Conv. neutralizes a number of exhaust gas compounds . The test looks for those .

+1 and if for some reason you would ever need the cat pipe you have it ready to go on.

What is going be emission testing every two years on the new bikes. I would think buy new pipes and save old parts for testing.

Putting a cat in the head pipe would make for a great project.
