Oil Leak

Hi, I recently installed a Screaming Eagle high flow air cleaner on my 2010 FLHX and I now have oil leaking out of the air cleaner cover. It isn't leaking a lot but it is getting the bike dirty and it is only going to get worse. Does anyone have similar problems or a suggestion on how to correct this?

I drilled/tapped and routed breathers to the ground so the oil doesn't come out of the AC now.

Minght have to much oil in the crankcase, if it is overfilled some will come out of the breather.

Had the same problem, drained some oil out of the crankcase.

Yep! Might have a "little" too much oil.

Did you you put the breather hoses from the heads back into the aircleaner? Are they on tight? May want to remove a 1/4 of a quart (8ozs.) from the OIL TANK. The last resort is to install a collection system or a seperate breather from the heads.

My bet is you are running the oil at the same level before you put the air filter on and not over filling it. Read your manual on it since they do vary for the new ones on how Harley set it up to fill it. The stock air filter will catch a lot of oil and is normal for most any two cylinder motor. Thats one of the draw backs of the open back filters. Especially when you run it in the upper RPM ranges. Let it sit a few months over the winter and take it out and it will drop what looks like a lot but it really is not.
