Does the Examiner give your bike a once over before the skills tests? I hear alot of people asking to borrow other folks unmodified bikes for testing purposes. Things like un-baffled exhaust and even high bars, can these disqualify a bike?

A buddy took his test on his sporty with tall apes. The tester didn't mention the bars other than to say they might make the test alittle tougher for him.
They might be worried the tester might have a bias against loud pipes/apes and fail them?

I might have to take a class to get my certificate because I know I cant pass it on my own bike. Anyone else have this problem?
A touring bike can turn inside of 18' with practice. You just gotta stay in the friction zone with a little rear brake... and off the front brake and look where you want to go.

I took my test on my first road bike, a 98 ultra classic back in 99. The test is quite easy even on the larger bikes. I couldn't believe how many people failed on much smaller bikes, sometimes I wonder if a person can't pass this test on whatever bike they plan to ride, maybe they shouldn't be out there at all.

It was funny though.... the lady doing the test was laughing at me when I rode up on the bike for the test, she said she thought there was no way to pass it (I look young for my age) & thought I was a teenager (I was 28).

When I got mine it was on a stock bike and cant remember if they did like a vehicle inspection of sorts on it. yes I think the concern is if the bike has "gray area" modifications done will they allow the test to be taken. Ohio testing in particular.

When I first started to ride there was no such thing as a MC endorsement. You could ride a bike with a drivers license learners permit at 14 years old. When I got back into bikes 10 years ago I took the test on a Low Rider and it was not easy, I hit cones and stuff, but I passed. I did a little practice on my own by drawing the course with sidewalk chalk in a parking lot.

Later that year I took an advanced riders course so I did it *** backwards. I would recommend taking a course first. Now 10 years later I am confident I could pass it on my SG with no problem.

I did it back in the 90's on my then Sporty. WA was the first state I lived in (temp at that time) that required a M endorsement.

I passed, but I didn't get a 100% mainly because the DMV guy was a jerk and deliberately not giving clear instructions.
