Stoppies are for the power rangers. Their bikes may have the better performance and they may be better riders but they ride bikes that are unAMERICAN. Therefore, a stoppie is unAMERICAN. If you want to be an AMERICAN you have to ride a HARLEY. Forget about performance. It's all about FREEDOM. And RESPECT. That's why I ride a HARLEY.

First you need some really good brakes. Then, you squeeze the lever while throwing your weight forward, but keeping it all in line. Then you let go og the break lever. On a Harley, i don't know if it is possible.

Are you F**King kidding me?!!!! Would you say that to all the US service men/women that ride sportbikes? I used to ride on because their a blast and there aren't any US bikes that can compare in performance. Oh, and while I rode that and to this day, I'm an AMERICAN!!!!

Dunno why you would want to try. But put a set of dual-disc 4-6 pistons and ram on the front brake, throwing weight forward too. Hope that when you come down the weight does not wreck the frame, but enjoy.

Buells do them well, and have the frame type to support them too.

First off I am a service member and I ride a "un-american" bike. I am buying a Street Bob this year and check out this forum a lot. I also stunt, which is what the hooligan riding some sportbike guys do is called. Throwing a "Stoppie" on a harley would be difficult since the front brakes are not that great. If you think yours are, take a ride on any newer sport bike and you will think your bike stops like throwing an anchor off the side of the bike. Or take a ride on a Buell. They work good for stunts.
In order to do a stoppie you need to be rolling at good speed (40-60 mph), I usually click the bike into nuetral so I don't have to hold in the clutch too. You lock your arms in place and grip the tank with you knees. A little bounce on the seat and about 85% grip on the brake. As the back end of the bike comes up shift your weight forward and you can use brake pressure to control the height once your in the balance point. I tap the back brake oonce it comes up to stop the rear wheel from spinning and it also tightens the chain so it doesn't "clunk" when you set it down. Once its back down you should still be moving a few mph, just click it into gear and roll off. Pretty easy, just takes practice and nuts. It is not like a wheelie where you can tap the back brake and set it back down. Once your too far over your going all the way.
Personaly I think guys who pull stunts on the road or in traffic are idiots and should be beaten, but I used to be one of them.
