This is probably a dumb question, but i'm very frustratrated right now. I'll shortly be putting a set of apes on my Fat Bob, and I read that "handlebar dampners decrease vibrations on taller bars". Wanting to do it right, I ordered them not quite knowing what they are thinking they would come with instructions or a diagram...something. All i got was a plastic bag filled with parts. Now before you all jump on me about the "service manual", I ordered one the same day I ordered my apes, but unfortunatley its backordered so I won't be getting it for at least a week. I've googled, youtubed, searched this forum for two days looking for anything to explain to me how they get installed, and exactly where they go. In the risers? In the grips? I've included a pic of what I got. If someone could make a quick explanation I would really appreciate it.
Thank you for your responses, after seeing the diagrams it makes alot of sense now. Exactly what I was looking for. @GolfBlues- I actually did get a set of poly bushings, I just used that other picture as an example. A tech would be nice, but when I called the local indie shop they quoted me $700 to internally wire and install the bars. No thanks...like my buddy said, "we're putting on bars, not building spaceships." Between my service manual and this forum I think I can handle it.

OK, the polys are correct. Most HD part instructions are right on the HD website. Look up the part & download instructions.

It's not the hardest job in the world but soldering and heatshrinking wires take time. And time is money. When you buy the new cables and lines, pull off your trans side cover to replace the clutch cable (after maybe having to remove the pipes to access that cover) AND if it's a Dyna you'll be pulling off the rear fender to unfold the 20" long main harness so you can feed it up the backbone to access the handlebar connectors that sit in the middle of the frame (unless HD decided to make those connectors more accessible since the 05 Dyna I'm currently putting apes on). You'll see where that $700 estimate comes from.
I hear ya pineyrider, I've had friends that have aped out their bikes, and they told me to set aside a whole weekend. But I definately got more time then money.
