Default Chrome

I was wiping of salt and sand of my brand new softail deluxe and the micro fiber rag fell on my still hot exhaust, it melted on the chrome. Is there a product that will remove the melted substance safely off the chrome or is it stuck on the chrome for good.

Maybe after your bike stops being brand new, you will be able to stop and wait for an hour or so before the need to clean takes hold. Heck sometimes I wait all night long, or *gasp* 2 or 3 rides till that feeling comes over me. But at LEAST till she cools down to the point where she wont melt a big hunk of plastic fibered cloth.

Get off what you can with a razor be careful not to scratch the chrome. Then use oven cleaner and a cleaning sponge that has a rough side like the ones you use for a pot..... make sure you don't get any of it on any of the painted parts. You will have to do it a few times because those micro-rags dry up real quick and become hard. It will come off but it will take a bit of work.

"This isn't a street bike. You don't know anything about bikes". Hahaha. It's a Starbucks bike. Gimme my regular low fat yak milk latte, and make it quick. I have some posing to do.

I finde that "Goof Off" brand graffitti remover works best on chrome pipes when they are warm...not cold, but not hot. (I believe it is flammable). It did wonders for melted boots.
