After much research and shopping around I bought a set of Rush Long Series pipes. Installed them this afternoon. These pipes are beautiful. The fit, finish and engineering are just plain excellent. The instructions were complete, easy to follow and the included photos really helped the installation process. Everything went together easily and smoothly. Unfortnately, the weather sucks so I couldn't take them out for a ride. They were a bit loud in the garage, but that will change on the road hopefully, or I may like the sound. The weird thing for a Harley is that all the nuts, bolts, brackets, etc., were included--- at no extra price! Thanks Rush.
"...don't understand the slip on why not full pipes?"
That's a fair question, and some would answer with lower cost, easier install. For me, I just happen to like the 2-1-2 Tommy Gun header that comes on the F-Bob, so Rush slip-ons were an easy choice. I also pulled off the '010 header pipe and replaced it with an '09 (no cat) which improved sound output and gives slightly better throttle response. Sure it all looks "stock," but I like it just the same.
