I love riding in a pack, but only with my brothers.
I know I can trust every mans riding so can relax and enjoy the run.

Ride like maniacs to catch up after traffic lights? Just don't stop in the first place!

Most of you "custom" bike guys have it easy these days, all you have to do is cruise through a "custom" parts catalog, and bolt on the "custom" parts. "Back in the day", if us "old fart's" wanted something custom, we had to build/fab it ourselves. There was no bolt-on Accessories catalog.

I only see a few people here like MReed and OldSkool that actually customize bikes.

Maybe after we "old farts" spent a couple of decades in the garage actually building and customizing bikes, we decided we would rather spend our time riding, than working in the garage. I guess that might explain why some of us riders have no use for baby gas tanks that won't let you pass the city limits sign.

No thanks, I'd rather be riding.

I agree with you Charlie, however, there is a LEVEL of customizing that people are capable of. Some people have large garages, some small, some none. Money talks. Although I am able to do all sorts of things, my customizing is limited due to resources, cash, time, and overhead. And this will pertain to many others on this forum.

I'm 30, and I always listen to my elders. You are right about customizing and your 'back in the day' theory. The degree of customizing can be judged by the amount of OEM styled bikes we pass on the freeway on our way to work, the store or church on a Sunday. I personally never see any modded Sportsters like I've seen on this website in person.

Also, some people are just starting out or just learning. Some people aren't mechanically inclined or don't know that GM popular bolt sizes are 7mm, 10mm, 13mm and so on....

You have a good point, though. Lots of items are BOLT-ON. But not everyone can MIG, TIG, CUT, GRIND or DOLLY.

I also like everyone enjoy the ride alone, however this is when I find that throttle opening up more and more.
Ditto, I ride with a group a lot and realize that some groups are not as organized as others and do create confusion at times but i do enjoy the ones I ride with. I guess to each his own.

I like riding both ways (never thought I'd hear myself saying that..lol), but if there are idiots in the pack, I just try to make sure I stay away. I usually ride with people I know. Sometimes I ride in big packs on charity runs or parades, I really enjoy that, most times I ride by myself or with wife and a couple of friends. But no matter what, you always have to ride your ride.

I ride in groups, our local CMC has weekly rides, usually 10 or less bikes, there are rules to follow which make sense, but some of the **** old fogies do get bent out of shape easily. I love riding solo or with one of my buds along, we have way more fun because we know each others riding style and its easier to adapt. If I ride in charity events our riding group sticks together, to many aholes out there that have no idea what formation riding is.

I don't mind riding in groups (especially with people I know).
But on toy runs and such, you really got to keep yer senses running on overtime.
After our last toy run here, was heading back into town and a member from another club blew by me on the right. He was catching his club formation up in front, so I gave chase
At the next light, I proceeded to chew the dumb sumbitch out

Grey beards is a much nicer title. Since mine has turned grey in the past 2 months, I guess I qualify now

In two years of riding so far I have ridden with one other rider... once. I guess that means I like to ride alone.
