I ride in a pack at times. I ride with the Southern Cruisers and we have packs of 20 or more. If riding in a pack makes you do stupid things, you are riding with the wrong guys.

I also like everyone enjoy the ride alone, however this is when I find that throttle opening up more and more.

I attend several benefit rides where there are 400-500 bikes in the pack. I have also done military escort rides with several hundred bikes. If riding in a pack makes you do stupid things, then you must be stupid to start with, or you have no self control. But, I do need to be more attentive and careful in bigger groups.....to watch out for the guys who do stupid things and have no self control.

I agree ! I prefer to ride solo or with 1 or 2 of my friends which I am used to riding with and trust, big groups get annoying mile after mile especially when you don't know what kind of rider is next to you and what their riding style is like.

I try to do my best with not riding in huge packs, 10 or less and before you start make sure everyone is well aware that slowpokes in the back and if you want to be stupid or a fool do it in another lane on a 4 lane highway far enough ahead so that we have an oppertunity to avoid you and your bike on the ground. A buddy of mine got taken out because another buddy decided to cross the double line and take on a Bmw. They all lived thank god.

Ah yes, customizing = bolt-on parts......

Yes, we Old Farts know and understand that the snot nose kids of every generation know it all. Hell, we also knew it all, before we became afflicted with things like maturity, wisdom and life experiences.

Most of you "custom" bike guys have it easy these days, all you have to do is cruise through a "custom" parts catalog, and bolt on the "custom" parts. "Back in the day", if us "old fart's" wanted something custom, we had to build/fab it ourselves. There was no bolt-on Accessories catalog.

I only see a few people here like MReed and OldSkool that actually customize bikes.

Maybe after we "old farts" spent a couple of decades in the garage actually building and customizing bikes, we decided we would rather spend our time riding, than working in the garage. I guess that might explain why some of us riders have no use for baby gas tanks that won't let you pass the city limits sign.

No thanks, I'd rather be riding.

Old farts bitching and moaning? What the hell. Showing the old farts what custom is? What the hell. Why I'll show you young whipper snappers a thing or two. You kids are still wet behind the ears. Here .... take my "depends" ... dry your ears off and clean 'em out so I don't have to repeat this. Now .... anyone seen my Geritol ?
