Default Handle Bar Issue

2009 Sportster XL 883L
When I turn the handle bar to the right it touches the fuel tank, but when I turn it to the left nothing is happening and there is a gab between the bar and the tank for about 1 cm.
I am sure this is not normal.
Do I need a handlebar alignment?

Are the bars centered?
Are they bent?
Are you getting them fully to the left or could a cable be binding and preventing it from going all the way?

No matter what, bars hitting tank ain't good - definitely to to adjust something.

For a few centimeters difference I would not worry about it but you need to rotate the bars up enough to avoid hitting the tank when fully turned.
