And something else you might want to know.
If you pull the pin out of the tensioner body, it will fall apart. Reassemble this way:
Body-spring-piston-shoe. Make sure the tit on the piston goes into the center of the spring. If you put it back together any other way, you'll be taught a very expensive lesson.

82,699 oct1949. Doing the 555 from Fuelmoto and thanks for your input on my other thread. Called jamie today and if I do the cam kit and woods lifters and tensioners its going to be 882.00 If I go to a 107 it will be 1413.00 then I have to decide to go with the new power commander V at 499.00 or trailer her 3 hours away for a dyno tune.

I answer so many I got lost,, sorry...

So Ur doing U own labor, thats great, I have the ability to do it, just don't have the desire any more and with my back I can't bend very well anymore. A big plus is I have the money now (Thank God) to let and pay others to do most of the work on the bike. I still do the oils, filter, spokes, grease, clean, lights, and bolt on mods.

Woods cams are bout 2-3X's the 26's I put in, and for sure U have to have new lifters, I put in new lifters even though mine only had 16k,, just me.. and yes at that mileage U might as well do Cam tensioners and also look at primary tensioners... Those have had very little conversation. but seldom hear anyone talking bout them.

4yrs ago IMO the SERT was "IT" as far as F/M systems,, now there's several as good, some even self tune....

The PCV auto tune is used a lot, I know very little bout it but,Jamie at F-M is for sure a big plus, with his help don't think U can do much better..

4yrs ago our dealer didn't like any of the piggy back systems, but in all fairness they didn't sell them either.
They pushed the SERT and DYNO tunes , al-be-so,,, $$$$$ in their Pockets.

But in their defense, my son and I have had 4 of the SERT.SEST on our bikes and have (0) Zero problem with any of them and they tune SPOT on.
Not pushing HD tuners here,, just we are really pleased with them.

U say U can go 107 for just a $5'er and some change more,, ummmm I'd really think bout that. I spent almost $900 for stg1 & dyno, then $900 for cams and lifters, and now if I go to a SE103 it'd be somewhere around another $1200. (don't need the cams) then hope for maybe another free dyno if I get a winter special....

So the more U do up front at the same time the more U'll save. And with the PCV and Jamies map,, "maybe",,,, U wont need a dyno...????? as they are really good it seems in getting the map to match Ur build...

good luck, (God I really hate that saying) how bout,,Wish U the best on Ur build....

oct1949...

One more ? is how did U old tensioners look with 83 k on them??

I'll take some pics of the old tensioned and post it.It's my daily driver so can't tear down until I receive parts and yes if I can get the scrath I will go for the 107. It all depends on how much crap of mine sells on craigs list.
