I take one as I have to carry my logs with me at all times and I am currently slip seating at work so I never know what truck I will be in. Also keep extra gloves, rain coat, hat, extra pens and anything else I need. I ride my bike everyday and I bought one of those cargo nets and strap my backpack on the luggage rack takes about 30 seconds.
Backpacks are for school kids and hikers. For everything else there are saddlebags, tank bags, or barrel bags.
I'm not strapping anything to myself that's going to raise my center of gravity and make balance more difficult.
I'm sorry guys, but my limited experience shows that you can't even feel a freaking backpack after a few minutes. Just ride and you'll soon forget about it. Seriously.
Raising my center of gravity? LOL... We're talking about a backpack.
I had to wear a backpack to get my laptop back and forth to work before I got my bags. I hated wearing it, not for aesthetic reasons, but because it made my back sweat like a mother****er in the summer. I couldn't give less of a **** what anyone thinks about the way I look when I'm on my bike.
