Quite a bit of scratch for a novelty helmet. It might be high quality, but it's still not DOT so who knows how it will protect your head if you test it for real.

Got one on order, I'm hoping it ships this week.

I'll let you know when I get it. Kevlar is used in bullet proof vests, seems strong enough to protect my noggin

I think it should be a law that all helmet pics in ads be shown on someones head with views from the front and side...

Usually, it's not the abrasion resistance that helps you, it's teh energy absorbtion.

Shell material is only a third of the equation involving helmet construction, the other two thirds are padding, and chin strap....

If the chin strap and connecting hardware can't withstand the pulling forces when your helmet contacts the road, the helmet obviously does you no good.

The more padding a helmet has reduces the effect of coup / contra coup which is the impact your brain has against the inside of your skull. The more your brain bounces around inside it's natural shell, the more bruising will occur, mild bruising results in concussion, severe bruising results in brain damage and death.....

I thought the helmet and ad copy sounded familiar. The ad at skullcrush is for a headtriphelmet? Their the same company who DOT shut down temporarily...?

Also keep in mind, DOT doesn't test and certify helmets. They give guidelines and the company making the helmet is supposed to comply. No way of knowing if they do.

Also the skull crush beanie uses foam that is used on the space shuttle.
