Hi there. Just bought a '88 FLHT Classic and have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with. First my turnsignal switch must be held down for the signals to remain flashing, is this normal? If so, how can I fix it to a push on to activate and push again to cancel setup like on my Honda? Also has anyone put a Streetglide seat on this year and model? Any help would be appriciated.
Turn signal held down to remain flashing is not normal. Is it both signals doing this? Both of my bikes ---you push a turn signal---blinker works till it cancels or you hit the same button again to cancel. Sounds like the module that controls turn/bank but This is a new one on me. Someone else may have a better answer.

Welcome to the forum.
On my 75, you have to hold the button for the flashers to work. On the 98, you push the button for flash, then push it again to turn it off. Repost your question down in the "Evo Classic" section. One of those guys will know for sure. They will also know whether or not a Streetglide seat will work.
Yes it's normal to have to hold the turn signal switch. Yes you can install a after market module to make them work the other way. there was a thread some weeks back on this subject. You'll have to do a search as I cannot remember exactly where. The seat I do not know.
FYI self cancelling modules were introduced early 90's and later.

My 1998 Evo Wideglide self-cancels on the blinkers. I don't remember using blinkers when I was younger.
