Locktite For Exaust??

Do you use locktite on threads for exhaust installation and if you do, which one do you use?

If you do, use blue at the most. Do not use red. That crap is really freaking hard to get off. Like heat the bolt up with a torch hard. Blue or green would help hold it on.

What Cray49a said plus that area is generally too hot for blue to work anyway.

Use "Anti-seize" compound on them. That will keep you from tearing up the studs if you need to remove the exhaust in the future.

Any thread locker except the high temp variety would be a waste of time. High temp versions are pretty expensive and only good to around 300 degrees.

I have always used anti-seize on exhaust and spark plugs and blue loc-tite on everything else

Currently I'm just putting on slip-ons. I went to Harley store to get new clamps and they said not to put on the clamps but the rest yes. The rest are the bolts that hold slip-ons together, would I still use the anti-seize? Do you folks agree not to put anything on the clamps?
