Ok, how many of you (like me) has forgot to put down the kick stand while getting off your bike.
Or did some other no brainer thing to lose your dignity.
Did it at a gas station (to warm up) and a couple people saw me do it. Luckly I had my brother help pick it up.
And I was told I did a stylish flying leap into the pile of mulch.
Fortunately I haven't experienced that yet, although I did see a friend do it with his V-Rod... He didn't look so stylish!
My dad is from Albany and my Aunt and one cousin still liive there... Not sure why thats of interest It is a small world I guess.. Glad you are OK..
My dumbass tried to start the bike in gear without the clutch pulled in at the gas station the other day. Luckily it just bumped forward a few inches and nothing happened except my pride getting bruised.
Ok, so I have to fess up on this...I did it in my driveway after backing the scoot out. No damage as I caught it before it hit the ground.
Ok,actually there was damage...just not to the bike. I toasted my shoulder, however! No biggie...I healed up a lot easier and faster than it would have taken to fix the scoot!
I think forgetting to put the stand down is a little better than forgetting to put it up... That can get ugly.
I was actually surprised the Harley did not have a saftey switch for that... my metrics all had a feature that if the bike was in gear and the stand was down the engine could not run.

I think it was because I was distracted/nervous. It was my first real ride in traffic (20+ miles), I was freezing my butt off (45 w/wind no sun) and I was going through the city... needless to say it took a little bit of the seriousness out of the ride, i just couldn't beleive I did it.
Yeah I didn't get hurt (mulch was soft) and the bike's mirror became loose, which my brother took great pride fixing for me.
A guy, walking into the store and saw it happen, came over to see if everything was ok. He told me that he did it the week before, and I had a friend tell me he did it a couple of times too.
