I posted a few weeks ago asking for ideas on having a helmet custom painted. Thank you for the comments that followed. I did proceed to select the artist for the job and together she and I conceived the paint theme concept. To note, this same theme is being carried over to my Softail Custom, which will also be completed in memory of my son and in honor of the charity foundation that we have launched. Our goal is to educate people to hopefully avoid the tragedy that we have had to live through in the loss of our son. The motorcycle and accessories (helmet, etc.) exist to draw attention to us at events and fund raisers - we also have commissioned several guitars that have been custom built and painted in his honor and to act as show pieces when we attend events (for instance, we will have a booth this month at the annual Texas Suicide Prevention Symposium, which is attended by just under 1000 mental health care professionals and individuals involved in or concerned about youth depression and suicide).
I wanted to post progress of the helmet share the results (see photo). It has my son on one side and the name of one of his songs on the other (not visible in this picture). On both sides are verses from his song. This photo is of the helmet not yet fully completed. It is, however, complete now... but the photo here was sent to me during the process and it has since been clear coated and is on it's way to us here in Texas from the artist. The motorcycle itself is under construction and it will be completed hopefully by the end of July. I'll share photos of the bike at that time as well.

Thanks, guys.
Here is a short clip from the song that he wrote the night before he left us - and hence the recording is not perfect and I can't get his band to get back together again as they are heartbroken. They did come out and play it as his services, and then the members broke up (they are experiencing some depressive issues themselves). This only has the bass guitar line laid down with it because it was still in process of writing. http://pickwithaustin.com/mp3/Angels...%20&%20JOE.mp3
Finally, for anyone interested beyond that - this is the guitar that artist Daneen Bronson painted in his memory. Google Daneen, her motorcycle paint work has appeared in many of the leading bike/chopper magazines.
All I can say is............... wait till you see the completed bike..!
