Option b (bang for buck) is going to depend on the technician who dynotunes your bike, if you go that route, find someone higly regarded near you and use the tuner he recommends. I was a little disappointed with the work done by my dealer and now I am getting re-tuned with an indy.
whoa... what is an "indy"? Sorry if that's a stupid question but I'm fairly new th HDs and I don't know what that means. I AM however, near enough to the old original Mancuso's in Houston to let them do it.
Anyone have any experience with Mancuso's? Otherwize... its Harly Davidson of the Woodlands, Texas or.... Texan Harley in Conroe.
There is no "chip" to flash. If your bike is EFI, you have a ECM that requires recalibration. The recalibration required will be determined by the exhaust and intake/air filter you select.
Have had both & a race tune, if properly done, is WAY beter than the reflash. You can tune the bike precisely to your riding style, and the difference is very noticeable.
Buy a power commander from Jamie at www.fuelmoto.usa, and he'll preprogram it for your specific exhaust and intake and all you'll have to do is plug it in and ride. Three hundred bucks and you're done.

I guess the point I am trying to make is that you not assume your Harley dealer (and a SERT/SEproST) is your only choice for a dyno-tune. Ask around and find someone experienced and competent.
