Here they just started to use them They take the pictures from behind and just went back thete and she turns from yellow to red in 3 sec. I am going to wait and see if anything comes from it Has anybody recieved anything in the mail
Ia m going to fight it but like anything else towns are just trying to drum up money I was told that it is not a moving violation Also am wondering if they did recieve one did they fight it
No points because they can't prove who was driving the car. Last I heard it was an $85 fine. Not as bad as some states but still a hidden and unfair tax imo.
I don't believe sane drivers blatantly or intentionally blow red lights. If someone misjudges the light by a split second and the opposing traffic hasn't started across yet, I don't see where it's that big of a deal and I don't feel a ticket is warranted. I technically violate the law on a regular basis by going through reds "late", especially when riding my bike because I'd rather get a ticket than get creamed by the car behind me.
If they wanted to make intersections safer all they have to do is put a two second delay between the red on one end and the green on the other. But of course that would mean less tickets and less revenue for the state and municipalities .
Here, the red light camera's are/have gone digital, and the sensors cross the entire intersection. If you cross on a yellow, it's not a problem unless it's a long yellow and a cop thinks you've "run" it. Here, and I'm assuming elsewhere, the camera works this way.. your front wheels cross the line where the sensor is, activating the camera. When your rear wheel passes over the line/sensor, that triggers the flash. If your front tire 'accidentally' crosses, but your rear doesn't, it's not an infraction.
