Just remember, if you are running hot cams with stiffer valve springs on a TC with a chain drive the chains will stretch under hard use.....

A gear drive doesn't stretch! It's your choice!!!

I don't know if anyone cares, but I took the part numbers from the Andrews kit and plugged them into Zanotti's just to see what kind of ballpark I was in. I didn't even get all the parts entered and I already realized that I would be better off buying a kit from Fuelmoto for 500 bucks. Even after the Zanotti discount, by the time you add on the extras such as bearings, gaskets etc. You can't beat the price of the prepackaged kit. Not sure what's going on with Herko, but Fuelmoto has the kit that Bob Woods put together with bearings, hardware, o-rings etc, for five bills and I am willing to bet it would be a lot quicker than Zanotti's as well. Anyway, that's my two cents on that.

Doing this would be just silly imo

I recently installed the Herko kit w/26Ns, inner cam bearings, lifters and 95" jugs w/SE flat tops in my '04 RK. At 52K miles, the stock tensioners were worn about 1/32" with some shallow pits. I've run Syn3 since the bike was new. If money was really tight, I would have been OK with leaving all the original parts in there and looking at them again at 75k miles. YMMV
