Hello-
06 Roadglide-Just this past weekend when downshifting from second to first i get a rubbing noise, almost likethe rotor is rubbing or something-it does it as soon as you down shift with the clutch lever still pulled in and sitll does it when you release the lever. It goes away when your almost at a stop.It only happens 2nd to first and no other gears. The bike rides and feels fine other than that.Tranny fluid is full and only has about 4k on it and thesame for the primary fluid. Any ideas?? THANKS
First thing I would do is put my motorcycle on a lift and free spin the back wheel. Then just look at everything close. Check belt tension and look at belt wear. Watch how the belt moves and the rear tire. I had to make an alignment adjustment over a tire change one time. Somehow the alignment was off a little and the belt would travel across the pulley a little from side to side. Only happened when the tire was rotated backwards. If it is coming from the primary. I might pop the clutch cover and pin light around in there just looking around. Both of my motorcycles have both inspection covers on them so I can look around further. I am not sure if you will find the problem since it is happening under load and in certain gears but at least you can assure yourself by eliminating certain things.

Thanks guys- I did take off the primary inspection cover and the derby cover but did not think to look at the belt- I will give that a look when I get home.
if i downshift into 1st at slow speeds i get a whine type noise.. I don't know if thats what your hearing but if it is, your just getting into a high ratio gear that doesn't want to be in gear..
