I tried using a sharpie but the mark it left isn't deep black enough to blend in with the powder coat paint.

I had planned on putting some mini apes on it eventually anyway, does anyone have an estimate on labor costs a HD deal would cost to put them on? Or should I try to do it myself.

Thanks.
Congrats on the scratch.

Now you can ride without worrying about the 1st scratch! Also, if you don't plan on running your wires through the bars, it only takes an hour or less to change out the bars to the mini-apes. I put on the mini-apes on my bike and ran the wires through the bars. I took my time and I did it in about 4 hours.

Ouch! It is your baby so it is better that you find something to fix the scratch.

Just ride it. Once you get your new bars you won't notice the scratch at all. BTW, running it thru the bars on your model shouldn't take 4 hrs. Took me maybe 2 to do my EGC only because of the fairing etc.

Get ur manual and jump up on it.

Ok. Filled in the hole with paint pen. Looks decent but I got a little crazy with the paint. Need to remove.some of the excess paint. Any tips on what will remove the touch up paint without removing the clear coat on the handlebars? I was thinking nail polish remover?

Once you get the first scratch out of the way, the next one doesn't seem so bad.
